Duolingo and Babbel are self-paced apps with no live instruction, no speaking practice with other people, and no instructor access. Camino Español includes all three: structured courses you work through at your own pace, four live events every month for conversation practice, and direct access to Ramona when you have questions. No prior Spanish experience is required. Camino Español has six Segments covering beginner through advanced levels. You choose your starting point based on where you are right now and move forward at your own pace. Complete beginners start at Segment 1. Returning learners who have some background can assess where they fit and begin from there.

No. The challenge is completely free and separate from the membership. After completing it you will have the option to join Camino Español, but there is no automatic enrollment or charge.
Membership and Pricing

Camino Español is $65 per month or $780 per year. Both plans include everything: all six Spanish Segment courses, all four live monthly events, the private community, and access to the rewards program. Optional private sessions with Ramona are available at $35 per session for members who want focused one-on-one support.

Yes. Camino Español is month to month with no minimum commitment. You can pause or cancel at any time. There are no cancellation fees or penalties.

Your course progress is saved. If you pause and return later, you pick up exactly where you left off. If you cancel and rejoin at a later date, your previous progress is retained.

Private one-on-one sessions with Ramona are available to members at $35 per session. They are not included in the base membership price but are available at a discounted rate exclusively for members. The standard rate for private Spanish tutoring is typically $75 to $125 per hour.

Yes. Camino Español has a points and rewards system that tracks your participation across courses, live events, and community activity. As you progress through the program you unlock rewards including free private sessions with Ramona, membership discounts, and community recognition.

The membership community and course content are accessible on mobile through a browser. A dedicated Camino Español mobile app is in development. In the meantime, the platform works well on mobile devices through the browser.
Live Events and Community

Camino Español members have access to four live events every month: a Conversation Hour for free-flowing speaking practice on general topics, a Language and Culture Workshop that dives into specific grammar, vocabulary, or cultural content, a Netflix and Chat session where members watch and discuss Spanish-language shows together, and the Inspired Intercambio, a monthly in-person Spanish-English language exchange for local Madison members.

Recording availability varies by event type. Check the membership community for details on which events are recorded and how long recordings are available after each session.

Life happens. Missing a monthly event does not affect your membership or your progress. Recordings may be available for some events. The course content is always accessible on your own schedule regardless of live event attendance.

Live events are hosted through the Camino Español community platform. Once you join, you will receive event invitations and access instructions directly through the platform. All events are online except for the Inspired Intercambio, which is held in person in Madison.
